Ok, it's been a while. Fatherhood continues and this one from last night need to be memorialized. My wife received a birthday card that sings "Can't Touch This" when you open it (stop, HAMMER TIME). Kiki was really enjoying the card so wifey tries a little redirection.

"Kiki, do you want to watch Sesame Street?"

"Yes, Sesme Stree, yah." (Kiki often talks in sentences like this.

"Then you need to give me the card."

"No."

"You can't watch Sesame Street and play with the card."

[silence]

"Do you want the card or do you want to watch Sesame Street." [this is an important subtle chage as Kiki will often pick the last things offered."

"Yah"

"Which one?"

"Yes"

"You need to pick one or the other."

[pause]

"One"

At which point my wife and I both broke down laughing.
